SCOO 2022 Albemarle Loop Cruise

Be sure to join us for our long cruise this spring to the scenic, quaint, & historic sights along the Albemarle Loop! We had a great time visiting our neighboring NC small towns along the Albemarle Sound a few years back, and have had many requests for an encore.
We plan to leave Oriental on Wednesday, May 25, and spend the first night in Dowry Creek. From there we’ll travel up the Alligator River for a quick night in Alligator R. Marina, or anchor nearby if preferred.
Our planned stops on the Albemarle Sound include Columbia, Pamlico Plantation, & Elizabeth City, all of which provide free 48 hr. dockage to boaters traveling the Loop. Then we’ll sail on to Manteo, always a highlight of the trip, on historic Roanoke Island.
We’re hoping for a side visit to the western shore of Nags Head, courtesy of Charles & Ann Stackhouse’s daughter, details to follow.
Come prepared for beautiful scenery, wildlife, history, shopping, dining, and potential carousing!
We anticipate about 2 weeks, plus or minus a few days, depending on weather and destinations. More details to come as we make arrangements at each stop.
